Living Water Spiritual Center in Winslow, Maine
is a retreat space sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Retreats and programs are open to people of all faiths who seek to grow spiritually
and deepen their relationship with God.

Come to one of our programs/retreats or bring your church group or nonprofit group to the Center for your own program.  Experience comfortable gathering spaces, cheerful private rooms, a library, chapel and home-cooked healthy food.  We are located on 61 acres along the Sebasticook River, with a network of four maintained woodland trails, a gazebo, an outdoor pool, a labyrinth, and the beauty of open space and perennial gardens.  The Center is a safe and peaceful setting to enjoy nature, unwind and feel revitalized. We look forward to welcoming you.

The Living Water Spiritual Center will remain open for the 2011-2012 year.
We close our doors on August 31, 2012.

LIVING WATER SPIRITUAL CENTER CLOSING

Guest comments on our closing

In 2009 we moved from Maine to Arizona after benefitting from Susan's excellent spiritual direction at LWSC and participating in a variety of retreats there since 2000. I am sad to learn that your oasis of God's hospitality is closing its programmatic ministry because it certainly meant a lot to us. We wish you all good gifts for whatever lies ahead.

So sorry to hear of your closing.  Such a beautiful spot you have there and everyone so gracious and the meals so good and the place so clean.  I suppose nothing stays the same forever.  I always enjoyed my times there.  I will definitely make plans to come again before you close.

I am very grateful for your Center and I thank God for having found you more than five years ago now.  I appreciate each ones efforts at making the retreatants welcomed  and very well attended to. You and your loved ones will be remembered in my prayer.

I love this place and am so sorry that it will be closing in Sept. 2012. (I’ll be praying for a miracle!) Thank you for all you do to help those who enter this Center experience a place of peace, comfort and exquisite meals!!

I hope you can stay here forever. For me it’s the only chance I have in a year to refresh myself. A place to reflect on the past and renew ourselves for the future. We will find other spaces, but it won’t be the same.

We have enjoyed doing our retreats here over the last ten years.  We’re going to miss you very much.  Thank you for your hospitality and for opening your hearts and home to us.

So sorry you have to close the facility. Thank you so much for your dedication to “Living Water.”

This is the most peaceful, enjoyable place to have a retreat. I wish it would not close.

Living Water is a very special place - the warmth & nurturing Spirit present here helps to fill us up! Your staff provides a wonderful hospitality & community. I pray that the next phase will bring a renewal of some kind that continues the same gifts. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! It has always been wonderful to come enjoy your warm hospitality, excellent meals, and peaceful atmosphere!

Dear Sisters: Dear People, All who make this place a true reflection of paradise on earth, THANK YOU... Even afterwards, when the door is closed our gratitude will be with all of you.

I am saddened to hear of your closing. I have been coming to Living Water since Father John Dear spoke here. I have attended several events besides Pax Christi as well. My first experience was with the Marriage Encounters retreat several years ago. My experiences with Living Water has always been pleasant and inspiring. Perhaps a miracle will allow you to continue.

It is so sad to know that we won’t be able to meet here again for our retreats. This beautiful, spirit-filled place with its warm hospitality - the sisters who indeed feel like sisters to us - the amazing food - all will remain in our memories with gratitude.

For heaven’s sake find a way to stay open!!! God bless!

Please don’t close. We have been here for a Pax Christi retreat for many years and love it.

I’m just so sorry you’re having to close! Praying for a miracle to keep open this Center.   A "center" in more ways than one.  A perfect mid-state meeting place.

This has been a very good place for retreats, we will miss it.

Thank you for being a spiritual touchstone in our lives.  We will miss you!  ♥
So sorry this facility will close next August - I pray some other Christian group will be able to re-open to continue the good works.

What a difference time spent here has made in my life.
Like losing an old friend, lost from sight but always very dear to my heart.

So sorry you are closing!
My heart is heavy over the closing of this sacred, restorative oasis.  I thank you for all the journeys you have begun, the pilgrims you have sheltered and nurtured.  May you continue to act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your (own) God.  And I so will miss Living Water in this form.  Blessings.
