Guidelines for Private Retreats
We’ve created some guidelines to
help orient you to the Center schedule. We pray that our hospitality and the Center’s resources
will help make your retreat meaningful.
-
Arrival:
Because we want to greet you personally, it helps us greatly if you arrive as
close as possible to the time listed on your confirmation form. If you will be
late, please call and let us know. Please park behind the building and use
the back entrance.
-
Silence:
Some private retreatants prefer silence, others prefer the opportunity for
conversation. Let us know your preference when you arrive, and we will respect
your choice. If there is a group in the house and you wish to eat in silence,
feel welcome to take your food and eat on the snack room side of the dining
room. We ask that all groups/individuals maintain silence on the bedroom floor in respect for
others who may be in silence at the Center.
-
Dietary Needs:
Our buffet offers healthful, balanced, and diverse options. If you are have food
allergies or are on a restricted diet due to
a medical condition, please write those restrictions clearly on the confirmation form.
If you have specific dietary preferences,
please feel welcome to supplement our buffet choices with food brought from home.
-
Meal Times:
Breakfast: 8:00 am - Lunch (main meal of the day): 12 noon - Dinner: 5:30 pm
If there is no group buffet being served, meals will be individually prepared in advance
for you.
-
Handicap Accessibility:
Stair lifts are installed for those who find stairs difficult. Please let us
know in advance of any special physical needs so that we can do everything
possible to meet your needs.
-
Use of the Facilities:
You are welcome to use any common rooms in the Center (chapel, sunroom, library,
conference room and southwest room--unless a group is using the space), gazebo,
pool, and trails in season.
-
Spiritual Direction:
Spiritual direction is available upon request (fee for service). Please call to
arrange direction before arriving at the Center.
-
Smoking:
We are a smoke free campus.
-
Final Day:
Please remove bedding &
towels from your room. Laundry chutes are marked in the hallway. For
those that are able, clean sheets are in the closet, please help us by remaking
the bed before departing.
-
For your safety, we do not allow candles or
incense in
bedrooms.
-
The rear-building door is locked. Upon
your arrival, you will
be given a temporary code to use during your stay.
-
Trail walking: For your safety, please sign
out before leaving and sign back in upon your return.
-
Additional information about the Center is
available in the desk drawer in each bedroom.
